A Royal Tradition

Royal Quinoa, the unique type of quinoa seed used in all Viva Quinoa's delicious whole grain cereals, is cultivated and harvested in the Uyuni salt flats located in the Potosí and Oruro departments in southwest Bolivia, 12,000 feet above sea level.

 This particular section of Bolivian geography presents one of the most hostile weather conditions in the Andean region, including nightly frosts, thin oxygen, scarce water and extremely salty and mineral rich soil. Rough climatic conditions makes the crop very durable, which results in seeds that are larger and rounder than any other quinoa varieties.

The finest quinoa seed in the world, Royal Quinoa is to quinoa what beluga is to caviar. Furthermore, it is packed with even more protein, vitamins and minerals than any other variety.
